It’s a nice circle and the result is Interstate Fleet Services’ consistent ability to outperform other vendors in delivering high quality service.
HistoryInterstate Fleets was one of the original companies in the commercial leasing business in 1953. Certainly, the leasing end of Interstate Fleets' business, the company's core, has adapted to changing markets since the company was founded in 1953. We presently can lease vehicles in all states and adapt the lease contracts to the various needs of the lessee. We completely manage the fleets of many companies and provide for their transportation and equipment needs. While proud of the capability to adjust to the marketplace, Fred Sr. also gives high marks for success to Interstate Fleets' service centers (officially, Interstate Service Centers). The first service center opened in 1979 in Glenside, Pennsylvania. A second in Colmar opened in 1994, and in 2003 the third Interstate Service Center opened in Allentown, Pennsylvania. We are presently establishing additional service centers in the greater Delaware Valley area. The service centers add another dimension to the company's diversification. Not only do we provide quality service and warranty repairs on our vehicles we are also able to up fit our commercial vehicles to the specifications of our customers. In addition we are able to market our off lease vehicles and used cars to the retail consumer which results in cost savings to our customers. Interstate Fleets has a very strong financial statement and funds one third of its lease portfolio internally. In addition Interstate has lines of credit with both local and national funding sources at very competitive rates. Interstate Fleets strives for diversity in both product and customer. You cannot be healthy if you are concentrating on one industry or one product line today because there are too many outside influences that can affect you. Having the resources in-house helps us to do everything on the decision-making side, including deciding on credit and determining customer qualifications. This allows us the flexibility to be creative and meet the individual transportation needs of our customer. |
